Katie Townshend Stockton, CMT

Katie Townshend Stockton joined MKM Partners in August 2004 as Chief Market Technician. Prior to joining MKM, Mrs. Stockton worked as a trader for New York-based hedge fund Ulysses Management and was a publishing analyst for Morgan Stanley’s technical strategy group. Mrs. Stockton received her Chartered Market Technician (CMT) designation in 2001, and graduated magna cum laude with a BSBA from the University of Richmond. Mrs. Stockton is frequently featured on CNBC, Bloomberg Television and quoted in the Wall Street Journal, Barron’s, and the Dow Jones newswires.

Mrs. Stockton uses different indicators for every kind of market environment, recognizing the dynamic nature of the market. Clients will read about momentum, support and resistance, comparative relative strength, overbought/oversold readings, market internals and investor sentiment. Mrs. Stockton also includes cloud charts and DeMark Indicators™ in her research.  Clients can expect regularly published research to be complimented by individual attention regarding specific areas of interest.
